My approach

My approach is integrative and person-centred, which means I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on what feels most helpful for you. Therapy is not one-size-fits-all, and I aim to adapt the work to suit the individual rather than expecting you to fit a particular model.

I offer a safe, genuine and down-to-earth space where you can talk openly about whatever feels important. My style is warm and collaborative. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin. We can take things at a pace that feels manageable.

What I can help with

  • Anxiety, stress, and overwhelm;
  • Low mood or depression;
  • Grief, bereavement, and loss;
  • Relationship and family difficulties;
  • Attachment and relational patterns;
  • Trauma and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs);
  • The impact of childhood experiences on adult life;
  • Low self-esteem and confidence issues;
  • Identity and self-acceptance;
  • Work-related stress or burnout;
  • Feeling stuck, lost, or disconnected;
  • Emotional regulation and coping with anger;
  • Life transitions and change;
  • Parenting and family dynamics; and
  • School-based issues such as anxiety, behaviour, or emotional distress.

My experience

I have over 16 years’ experience supporting adults, young people and families across West Yorkshire. My background includes family support and education in both mainstream and alternative settings, where I worked closely with individuals navigating emotional and behavioural challenges. This experience has shaped my understanding of how early relationships and life experiences can influence us well into adulthood.

Alongside my counselling practice, I have worked as a Senior Mental Health Lead in a large secondary school, helping develop pathways for young people to access timely support. I have also worked nationally as a Positive Regard Consultant, supporting schools to adopt trauma-informed and relational approaches.

These roles reinforced my belief that empathy, trust and consistency are central to meaningful change.

What to expect

In our sessions, you can expect a calm, non-judgemental environment where your thoughts and feelings are taken seriously. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, low self-esteem, grief, the impact of past experiences, or simply feeling stuck, we will work together to understand what is happening and find ways forward that feel realistic and supportive.

I believe that with the right space and support, people are capable of growth, clarity and change. My role is to walk alongside you as you reconnect with yourself and begin to feel steadier and more confident in your own life.
