My name is Jenny and I am an integrative counsellor and eco-therapist. I currently work with individuals over the age of 18.
I am an accredited registrant member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (formerly the National Counselling Society or NCS) and adhere to their ethical code of practice.
If you would like to get in touch, please e-mail me to arrange an initial free phone consultation.
I work with people who are seeking support with life and decisions, navigating difficulties, loss, and transitions. My aim is to provide a space where I will hold what you bring with care and without judgment, working together at a pace that is set by you with the issues you decide to bring.
I use an integrative model in my practice which means that I have training and experience of working with several different approaches of counselling. This provides a rich resource that can be used to bring understanding and facilitate change within the counselling work.
I generally meet with people on a weekly basis for between 3 to 12 months, however there is flexibility within this depending on an individual’s particular needs or circumstances.
Eco/Ecological therapy recognises the importance of our relationship with the natural world and with others for our own wellbeing. It creates space for a holistic approach to therapy allowing for opportunities to explore mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of who we are.
Since qualifying as a counsellor, I have gained over a decade’s worth of experience as a therapist working in a variety of settings. These include contractual work for organisations, secondary and higher education provision, and as an associate counsellor for a life coaching company.
Alongside counselling I have also run a woodland-based therapeutic organisation in Bradford, supporting women and teenage girls through strength-based and nurturing interventions in an outdoor setting.
Previously I have worked in the charity sector in several roles including centre manager of a debt counselling provision and assistant manager of a supported housing project for young people.
A bit more about me…I am drawn to nature and all the different ways of being in it. I love music and am actively involved in playing with others and teaching. I deeply value being creative and particularly enjoy experimenting with pencil, ink, and paint.
I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation so that you can find out more about how I work and to ask any questions that you might have. This is also helpful for me to check whether I feel I have the right expertise and model to support you before we begin our work together.
50 minute sessions: £55
Payment to be made in advance by bank transfer.
I do offer a limited service at a reduced fee for those on benefits or in financial need – please ask about whether there is availability for this when you first get in touch if this is something you would like to apply for.
