My name is Jenny and I am experienced integrative counsellor currently working with adults age 18 and over.
I am an Accredited Registrant member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (formerly the National Counselling Society or NCS) and adhere to their ethical code of practice.
If you would like to get in touch, please e-mail me to arrange an initial free phone consultation.
Please note, I currently only have availability on Fridays.
My approach is collaborative and creative with the aim of providing a framework that nurtures connection, compassion, and growth. My aim is to provide a space where you can trust that I will hold what you bring with care and respect and we will work together at a pace that is set by you.
My work with people can either be focused on something particular or be more open in direction. I often work with people who are sensing a need for change or are feeling stuck with the environment or relationships they are in. I also work with people who are having to process difficult experiences that they did not want or instigate.
I generally meet with people for between 3 to 12 months, however there is flexibility within this depending on an individual’s particular needs or circumstances.
A bit more about me…I am drawn to nature and all the different ways of being in it. I have an allotment which I attempt to keep on top of! I love music and am actively involved in playing with others and teaching. I deeply value being creative and particularly enjoy experimenting with pencil, ink and paint.
Since qualifying as a counsellor, I have gained experience as a private practitioner working in a variety of settings. These include contractual work for organisations, secondary and higher education provision, and as an associate counsellor for a life coaching company.
Alongside counselling I am a director and co-founder of a woodland-based therapeutic organisation in Bradford. This work involves supporting women and teenage girls through strength-based and nurturing interventions in an outdoor setting.
Previously I have worked in the charity sector in several roles including centre manager of a debt counselling provision and assistant manager of a supported housing project for young people.
Also I am currently undertaking a post-graduate course in Transactional Analysis within an ecological approach (2023-2024)
Finding a counsellor that you feel a connection with is important. To help with this I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation. This aims to answer any questions you may have and to find out briefly what you are wanting from counselling. It is also helpful for to me to assess whether I think I have the right expertise to offer you, before we commit to beginning our work together.
50 minute sessions: £55
Payment to be made in advance by bank transfer.
I do offer a limited service at a reduced fee for those on benefits or in financial need – please ask about whether there is availability for this when you first get in touch if this is something you would like to apply for.
For more information or to book a free 20 minute phone conversation, please contact me directly by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
