I am passionate about being a psychotherapist because it can change your outlook, perspective, thoughts, feelings and behaviours and I can help you make positive changes to your life. I’ve had have many years working with people to help them become the best version of themselves and I consider this a real privilege. I have refined my process over the years, so if you choose to work with me, you won’t be disappointed.

With over 22 years experience of providing Psychotherapy & Counselling in Bradford, I have worked with people of all genders, sexualities, cultures, backgrounds and different life experiences. I am also highly qualified with both Batchelors and Masters degrees in Counselling. I regularly undertake further training to ensure personal development and keep up-to-date on the latest research and developments in counselling and psychotherapy so I can help you more effectively.

My work is grounded in inclusivity for all genders, sexualities, relationships, ethnicities and faiths and consequently I have worked with a diverse range of clients. My practice is based at the Victoria Therapy Centre in Saltaire near Bradford from where I deliver my in-person sessions.

Before becoming a counsellor myself, I undertook my own long term therapy which I believe is critical to doing my job well. Developing my own in-depth self-knowledge on top of my academic qualifications, experience and clinical supervision training, ensures I am able to help you.

I initially began working as a psychotherapist in the voluntary sector and as a Staff Counsellor for the NHS at Airedale Hospital back in 1999. I then moved into a role at Lynfield Mount hospital in Bradford, helping people with more severe mental health issues such as Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). My job was to help them live their lives, rather than just existing and being overwhelmed by their symptoms.

In 2006 I moved into private practice, working from rooms in Shipley, North Bradford and more recently offering online psychotherapy. I have also continued to be a NHS Staff Counsellor since 2013 where I provide upto six counselling sessions to NHS employees.

In 2014-2015, I trained in the clinical supervision of other psychotherapists and earned a Diploma in Supervision; undertaking regular supervision sessions is a requirement for all professional therapists that are actively practicing.
